I've used this for both baked and fried chicken and the chicken was moist and juicy. Try to make sure the all the chicken pieces are completely covered.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 juice from a lemon
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1/2 medium onion sliced
  • 5 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 5 cloves of garlic, smashed
  • 8 pieces of chicken(4 thighs, 4 legs)

Directions

  1. 1. In a bowl combine buttermilk, hot sauce, garlic, thyme, lemon juice and black pepper. Mix together and then add a few pieces of onion. Add chicken and more onion. Try to make sure chicken is covered as much as possible.
  2. 2. Refrigerate for 2 to 10 hrs.
